Armed and dangerous criminals killed in shootings with police

IPOH: Three criminals were gunned down by police and two firearms were seized during an exchange of fire in Kampung Simee here.


In the 3pm incident, the suspects were shot dead by a team from the Bukit Aman Special Task Force on Organised Crime (STAFOC) and Perak police.


Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, in his Twitter account, confirmed the success.


It is learnt that all the suspects were highly dangerous and wanted for robbery in the city and its surrounding areas.


Sources said while police tried to approach the suspect's car, they sped off and a chase ensued.


"There was an exchange of fire and the three suspects were shot dead. Two firearms were seized.


"Police are still carrying out investigations at the crime scene," he said.


Meanwhile, state police chief Datuk Osman Salleh is expected to call for a press conference tomorrow on the incident.
