Armed robbers strike Banco de Oro

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- Five armed men staged a daring daylight robbery inside a Banco de Oro (BDO) branch on Osmeña-Ramonal streets here and carted away an undetermined amount of cash on Thursday morning.

Police said the robbers, who were not wearing masks, calmly entered the bank around 10:50 a.m.

However, police said bank employees and security guards declined to give further details of the incident.

Initial investigation showed that the five robbers were armed with undetermined types of guns.

Police said the robbers took away money from the tellers and from a depositor amounting to P100,000 placed inside a black bag as the latter was about to deposit.

After the robbery, the suspects reportedly fled on board a Honda XRM, Honda Wave and Suzuki Raider motorcycles all colored black and proceeded to the west part of Ramonal Street, in this city.

During a pursuit operation, operatives of Puerto Police Station intercepted and held a man who was found in possession of a .45 caliber pistol and P391,000 cash.
