Arnold Schwarzenegger has been involved in a car accident after cyclist allegedly swerved into his lane over the weekend in LA, according to reports.

The incident is said to have taken place on Sunday morning (February 5) at San Vicente Boulevard and Burlingame Avenue in Brentwood, California.

The 75-year-old reportedly collided with the female cyclist, after she “swerved in his lane and made contact with his vehicle”, before he could hit his brakes.

The Terminator actor was said not to have been driving fast, and was subsequently seen speaking with the police, who arrived at the scene at 10:30am local time, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed.

Three eyewitnesses at the scene also spoke to authorities following the incident.

The cyclist was said to be left with minor injuries, and was taken to hospital by first responders where she was confirmed to be in a stable condition.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Schwarzenegger doesn’t appear to be at fault, with an investigation already concluding that he couldn’t have done anything to avoid the impact.

No alcohol and drugs are suspected of having influence, nor crime, putting the incident down to a “simple traffic accident”.

In light of the event, it has been reported that Schwarzenegger, who is an avid cyclist himself, has taken the bicycle to a local shop for repair work.

The Standard has contacted Arnold Schwarzenegger’s rep for contact.

It’s not the first accident Schwarzenegger has been caught up in, as last January he was involved in a multi-vehicle car crash in Los Angeles.

The former bodybuilder was driving a Yukon SUV on Sunset Boulevard when it collided with a red Prius, ending up on top of it before rolling into a Porsche Cayenne.

At the time, police confirmed that one woman was taken to hospital with an abrasion to her head.

An eyewitness told news outlet TMZ that the crash “looked like a stunt in a movie” while Schwarzenegger was unharmed.

An investigation was opened, with neither drugs nor alcohol suspected to be factors in the incident. No arrests were made.

However, Schwarzenegger was found to be at fault by law enforcement, as he reportedly made an illegal left turn.
