Hector Bellerin earned 10-man Arsenal a 2-2 Premier League draw at Chelsea as the red-carded David Luiz endured a wretched Stamford Bridge return.

Gunners skipper Bellerin equalised three minutes after opposing captain Cesar Azpilicueta thought he had claimed a victory for Chelsea with a neat late finish.

Azpilicueta turned home Callum Hudson-Odoi's cross with six minutes to play to spark delirium in Stamford Bridge as Frank Lampard's men took a 2-1 lead.

Jorginho coolly converted his second penalty in three matches after Luiz was sent off for hauling down Tammy Abraham just when the Chelsea striker was about to tap into an empty net.

Bernd Leno: 6

Could do nothing about the penalty he conceded or the second goal, and was solid throughout the majority of the game.

First game since December 5 and looked a little rusty early on. Settled and ended up curling home a late equaliser.

Failed to last even 30 minutes of his return to Stamford Bridge and was sent off for hauling down Tammy Abraham in the box.

Created Chelsea’s first goal by leaving his back-pass to Leno far too short. Looks short on confidence, but recovered and was better in second half.

Bukayo Saka: 4

Struggled all night against Callum Hudson-Odoi, who looks back to his best. In fairness, Saka is 18 and playing out of position.

Lucas Torreira: 7

Another tireless performance in the middle of the park. Quickly becoming Mikel Arteta’s most important player.

Granit Xhaka: 7

Filled in at centre-back for 60 minutes when Luiz was sent off and stood firm. Typified the Gunners’ fight spirit.

Nicolas Pepe: 6

Caught the eye with a few mazy runs, but outshone by Gabriel Martinelli on the opposite flank. Needs to show more for a man who cost £72million

Mesut Ozil: 5

A quiet night for the German, who had to fill in at central midfield after Luiz was sent off. Played just 55 minutes before coming off.

Gabriel Martinelli: 7

Continues to impress every time he plays and at £7m looks like one of the signings of the season. Took his goal with incredible composure for an 18-year-old.

Alexandre Lacazette: 6

Was feeding off scraps for most of the night. Worked tirelessly with out the ball and put in a shift.

Subs

Mateo Guendouzi (on ’55): 6

Added some energy to an Arsenal midfield that was tiring. A handy contribution.

Rob Holding (on ’80): 5

At fault for the second Chelsea goal and looks short of match fitness.

Joe Willock (on ’90): 5

Brought on in added-time and had no chance to make an impact.

Not used

Emi Martinez, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Dani Ceballos, Eddie Nketiah.
