  • Arsenal break Spurs' resistance with flurry of goals in second half

06:09 PM

FULL TIME - Arsenal 4 Tottenham 0

Outclassed in the end, Spurs. Lisa Evans hat-trick. The goals came thick and fast, like the proverbial floodgates opening. Arsenal through to the semi-finals.

06:08 PM

90+3 mins - Arsenal 4 Tottenham 0

Four excellent goals, really, have undone Spurs. A couple of mistakes in there, though, which did not help.

06:05 PM

GOAAAAAL!

Ah, this is just mean now. It's four... Spurs have collapsed. It's a hat-trick for Lisa Evans! Mead sends in a square ball from the right and Evans is there and fires firmly into the roof of the net. Calmly done again, though that was the easiest of the lot.

Arsenal 4 Tottenham 0

06:03 PM

89 mins - Arsenal 3 Tottenham 0

Fair to say it's "GAME OVER" now for Spurs. Decent and fighty first half but Arsenal's class has shown through here in the second 45.

06:01 PM

87 mins - Arsenal 3 Tottenham 0

Lucy Quinn, one of Spurs' subs, gets a shot away with her left from close range but it's straight at Zinsberger. Should have done better.

06:00 PM

GOAAAAL!

Lisa Evans with her second of the game! Spurs have fallen apart here. Van de Donk finds Little behind her, Little plays a tremendous ball through to Evans, just outside the box on the left, she goes wide and forward, shoots across the goal and into the corner with her left foot to make it 3-0.

Arsenal 3 Tottenham 0

05:57 PM

82 mins - Arsenal 2 Tottenham 0

Spurs have now used up all their substitutes so no debut for Alex Morgan, she has been out of action for a long time, though.

05:54 PM

79 mins - Arsenal 2 Tottenham 0

I don't think this will end 2-0... more openings look on the cards for Arsenal, as a few mistakes have started to creep in for Spurs.

05:50 PM

75 mins - Arsenal 2 Tottenham 0

Of course, the game is not over. 15 minutes or so to go and it is definitely possible to score two goals in that time. It is very unlikely, though. Spurs' resistance is ended and emphatically so. Arsenal and Spurs were fairly evenly matched in the first half but Arsenal have been good for their lead in this one.

05:47 PM

GOAAAAAL!

Game over? From 0-0 to 2-0 in a matter of moments...

Neville again makes the mistake as she slips, trying to clear the ball. She can only poke it into the middle of nowhere. Miedema picks up and plays a superb ball through to Evans on the edge of the box... she takes a couple of steps and slots it coolly along the ground and past Spencer to double Spurs' lead.

Arsenal 2 Tottenham 0

05:47 PM

GOAAAAAL!

Arsenal with the breakthrough goal! And it's a good one, Jordan Nobbs putting them up 1-0.

Neville plays a loose ball across the field, Jordan Nobbs is onto it with a soft touch, she spots Spencer off her line and lobs the Spurs goalie from 25-yards out. Fantastic stuff.

Arsenal 1 Tottenham 0

05:45 PM

70 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Green on for Peplow for Spurs. Kennedy, well involved in this game, goes into the book for Spurs.

05:43 PM

68 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Spurs finding it more difficult to press Arsenal effectively in this half and harder to break through on the counter, too. Peplow is down again and I expect she will be coming off. Not able to run it off, it seems.

05:41 PM

66 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Spurs' Peplow receiving some treatment here after rolling her right ankle over. She seems to be okay once she's back on her feet.

05:38 PM

64 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Williamson's turn to have a go from distance but it's a poor effort, dragged wide. Spurs under the cosh.

05:37 PM

63 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Little tees it up for McCabe who hits it sweetly and swerves just wide of the far post. Keeper Spencer was truly beaten there! Arsenal definitely piling the pressure on now.

05:36 PM

61 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Kennedy gives a free kick away on the edge of the box, felling Little. Danger time.

05:33 PM

58 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Miedema has a crack from 25 yards out. Not for the first time today it's well wide.

05:31 PM

57 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

That was poor from Kennedy, but this was brilliant from her in the first half.

"Tekkers" in 2007 parlance.

05:30 PM

55 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

That is a waste from Kennedy. Eight yards out, totally unchallenged and fluffs the header wide from a super corner. Got to get that on target. Plenty of chances this half, though.

05:28 PM

53 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Arsenal just creating a few more openings here. Arsenal put the ball in the back of the net but the whistle had been blown before for a foul on Zadorsky, I think. Much better from Arsenal, who lacked a bit of fluency in the first half and were disrupted a little by Spurs' tactics.

05:26 PM

50 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

No sign of Alex Morgan. Well, she's sitting in the stands quite huddled up. But no sign of her coming on, at least. Nobbs fires one on the slide from about 10 yards out but it's comfortably at Spencer in the goal. Great ball through by Little.

05:23 PM

48 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Arsenal begin the half with some early pressure and Miedema wins another corner. It's a short one and it's largely wasted and quite soon too. Hate that.

05:20 PM

KICK OFF — TAKE TWO

What we will see in the next 45? A goal or two, hopefully. Davison has a pop 25-odd yards out and slices it horribly.

05:03 PM

HALF TIME

And not a goal in sight. Arsenal hit the bar early on but Spurs came back into it a little.

05:03 PM

45+1 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Just a single minute of added time.  Decent first half, Spurs possibly slightly happier of the two teams.

05:01 PM

44 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Spurs have pressed Arsenal very well here. Decent game breaking out now, just as we approach half time.

04:59 PM

42 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Nearly an opening from Arsenal! Nearly a goal. Miedema on the left 1-2 with Nobbs and the Dutch international fires wide with her left from an acute angle. Was never going in but nice bit of play there. Slightly slack defending from Spurs.

04:58 PM

40 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Kennedy battles on the sideline and gets out of it with a wonderful bit of skill before attempting a shot from a very tight angle! Zinsberger tips over the bar but that was superb play from Kennedy and caused some danger. Perhaps Spurs' best moment in the half so far.

04:57 PM

40 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Spurs should be pretty happy with this, closing in on half time and are well in the game. Arsenal have had the two best chances but there hasn't been a great deal more from them at all. Bit of shirt pulling going on on the Spurs attack, McCabe the culprit and in the box as well. You can't do that and she's a bit lucky to get away with it.

04:55 PM

38 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

This is better and more threatening from Spurs, as Zinsberger comes out and punches the danger away. Kennedy is down in the attack, though she seems to be fine after a minute or so.

04:53 PM

35 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Injury here to McCabe who was whacked on the touchline, I think. Nothing that was caught on camera but there's a bit of blood on her shorts and the physio comes on to sort it out. Spurs waste an attack with the woman advantage as Davison overhits a cross from the left. McCabe back on the pitch.

04:51 PM

33 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

A bit quiet out there at the moment, so here's that earlier chance for Foord - in video form.

 Conditions getting worse.

04:48 PM

31 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

So close for Arsenal! McCabe with a great ball in, it finds its way to Nobbs about ten yards about but the shot is blocked... Arsenal corner.

04:46 PM

29 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

In these conditions — as the rain starts to fall heavier and heavier — that will not be the last mis-timed challenge in this match. Miedema vs keeper Spencer after a long ball through... Spencer wins the race and collects out of her area... ball at her feet, calm and cool and deals with the danger. Nobbs wins an Arsenal corner.

04:43 PM

25 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Spurs with their first meaningful move forward in a little while, but snuffed out by the Arsenal defence before they can get a shot away.

Miedema starts the counter attack before being robustly challenged a little late... she can't take part in the attack, though and Arsenal lack the numbers in the end. Zadorsky is booked for the foul on Miedema at the start of that move.

04:41 PM

24 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Not a game that has been flush with chances since Foord missed that great chance with her head earlier on in the game.  Miedema cannot chase down an overhit pass on the left as Arsenal attempt a counter. And fail.

04:38 PM

22 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Peplow penalised for a foul on the Arsenal counter-attack. Another free kick as Graham fouls van de Donk just in the Spurs half. Arsenal building pressure now, slowly but surely.

04:35 PM

18 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Ooh, Williamson finds Miedema with a long, cross-field ball from the left and Miedema takes it down brilliantly, on the side of her left boot... though not brilliantly enough as Becky Spencer collects.

04:32 PM

14 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Spurs certainly not being overwhelmed here by Arsenal, who are obviously clear favourites here. Arsenal moving it around nicely in the middle of the park, though at the moment.

04:29 PM

10 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Decent start for Spurs but Arsenal coming into it a little now, with Miedema winning a free kick 30 yards out after a hand ball from Zadorksy.

04:26 PM

8 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Conditions look pretty bad out there. A corner for Spurs comes to nothing. Apart from an Arsenal goal kick, that is.

04:23 PM

6 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Off the bar! A superb ball in from the right finds the head of Foord, whose looping header strikes the crossbar firmly. Should have done a bit better there, perhaps just mistimed her jump but had the keeper beaten. Great ball from Williamson, though, pin-point precision from 30-odd yards away.

04:21 PM

3 mins - Arsenal 0 Tottenham 0

Graham shoots tamely from distance at the end of a nice move forward for Spurs, rolling comfortably towards Zinsberger.

04:17 PM

KICK OFF!

Arsenal do the honours to get the first QF for the 2020 Women's FA Cup underway.

04:17 PM

It's pretty ropey weather out there at the moment

Certainly a lot worse than this time last week. Very windy, pretty chilly and with a little bit of rain out there. A few pairs of gloves out there.

04:12 PM

Former Arsenal player Becky Spencer is Spurs' captain today

She says it's "incredible" and that it shows the club's ambition to sign Alex Morgan. "Maybe it'll take a bit of time for her to settle back into things but she looks sharp."

04:02 PM

Alex Morgan reveals transfer to Spurs from Orlando Pride 'happened really fast'

USA national women’s forward Alex Morgan has revealed  her deadline-day move to Tottenham Hotspur was completed in “less than 48 hours” after entering into discussions with the club. Morgan became the fifth World Cup winner from the USA team to join the Women’s Super League when she was unveiled as a Spurs player earlier this month, after Sam Mewis and Rose Lavelle (Manchester City), and Tobin Heath and Christen Press (Manchester United).

Here's the Arsenal team...

03:04 PM

Will Alex Morgan make her Spurs debut?

The 31-year-old United States forward has been training with the Women's Super League club all week following her move from Orlando Pride earlier this month.

She could be in contention for the last-eight tie against the Gunners, but it would be her first competitive match in over a year having given birth in May. Joint Tottenham manager Juan Amoros said: "Alex is obviously our player, we can't forget that she landed last week.

"She has been training with us for a week. She is one of our players and as everyone else can be selected to play because all the paperwork has been done. We will have to wait until almost the last minute."

Morgan, who is a two-time World Cup winner with the USA, is due to return to Orlando Pride for the NWSL (National Women's Soccer League next year, but Spurs are open to extending the deal.

Alex Morgan and Head Coach Karen Hills of Tottenham Hotspur during a training session at Tottenham Hotspur Training Centre on September 25, 2020 in Enfield, Englan - Tottenham Hotspur FC

Amoros added: "Regarding the deal of Alex, it is for a season. At the same time we know, the world we live in these days is a very difficult world.

"She has recently been a mum, her husband is still in America. There are a lot of things that can influence the next step, so we have to go step-by-step on this case and see how they adapt to London. The main aim is that she's part of the Spurs family, she is already quite happy with how everything is going and the club and her team-mates are making her feel welcome.

"Obviously a player of that calibre, we want to keep her for as long as we can. We will see on that but the main thing is that she is happy and fits part of the family.

"The deal is for a season but there are other things in her life and we always prioritise the person.

"She has recently become a mum this has had a big impact on her and the family situation is a bit different and also the situation in America. Making long-term plans is very difficult.

"We don't know what will happen next week. So at the moment, she's here, that's what really matters at the moment, she's a Spurs Women player and we hope that she has a great time with us and she and scores a lot of goals for us."
