Artificial Insemination

LUCENA CITY, Quezon - The Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) hailed this province recently for being the country's leader in carabao raising and procreating cattle offspring through artificial insemination, a project of the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO).

Dr. Gerald Montiero, veterinary officer, said the PCC's recognition of Quezon was based on records showing that Quezon was the top project implementer in Regions 4 and 5 with 437 cows successfully undergoing artificial insemination.

The project, Montiero said is an answer to weakening production of cows and cattle which became a hindrance to the growth of farmers and cattle raisers.

He said the PVO used Brahman breeds of cattle and carabao in artificial insemination ensuring of best result and increases the livestock's generation.
