al-Nijar has painted specific scenes
in eight expressive and abstract paintings
(SOUNDBITE (Arabic) ARTIST, HUSSEIN AL-NIJAR, SAYING: "These paintings are all based on real images, which I was able to turn into expressive and abstract art. One painting is of the bride of Beirut who was having her picture taken when the blast hit. That event really affected me, so I painted a piece based on her."
