Author Arundhati Roy, while criticizing the central government at an event at the Press Club in New Delhi on Thursday, made a gaffe which led to Twitterati trolling her mercilessly.
Hinting at corruption in the Rafale deal with France, Roy said, “The real fire of make in India, is the Rafale aircraft carrier deal.” Rafale is a fighter plane, not an aircraft carrier.

Continuing with her diatribe against the government over the arrest of some ‘activists’ with alleged Maoists links, Roy also said democracy and Constitution are ‘under threat’. “This is an attempt to divert attention from the losing popularity that the BJP is facing right now and to fracture Opposition unity,” she added.
