Ascendas-Singbridge and SP Group partner to roll out electric vehicle charging points

Business space solutions provider Ascendas-Singbridge Group and state-owned utilities company SP Group have signed a partnership to provide high-speed electric vehicle (EV) charging points at Ascendas-Singbridge buildings.

This has already resulted in 24 high-speed charging points installed in six buildings. These six locations are 80 Bendemeer Road (Hyflux Innovation Centre), Corporation Place, Techlink, Techplace I, The Capricorn and The Kendall. The charging points have been operational since December 2018.

Ascendas-Singbridge says the selected sites are in strategic locations with easy access to a variety of amenities and food options. EV drivers can tap on SP Group’s charging service through the SP Utilities mobile application.

The 24 charging points are part of the first phase of 38 charging points. SP Group will also install a number of high-powered 50kW direct current chargers, which can fully charge an electric car in 30 minutes. More charging points will be installed at other Ascendas-Singbridge properties later this year.

Last year, SP announced its plans to build 1,000 charging points island-wide by 2020. This is in line with the company’s intent to cater to the advanced mobility needs of its high-tech and business tenants, and is aligned with the Group’s corporate sustainability goals.
