Asos releases Groovy Chick merchandise

In what might be the best piece of news this year for 1990s nostalgia, Asos has started selling Groovy Chick merchandise.

The iconic childhood character is synonymous with crop tops, small clutch bags, and everything else that featured the signature Bang on the Door prints.

Now, Asos is offering Groovy Chick fans the chance to reminisce with a range of T-shirts featuring the character.

There are two different T-shirts on offer, one white and one green.

Both feature the Groovy Chick reclining on her side dressed in her signature striped crop top and pink flared trousers.

The tops are made by the brand Daisy Street, which sells a number of other garments on Asos.

Unfortunately, both T-shirts are currently sold out on the website, having been priced at £12.99.

Groovy Chick fans took to Twitter to celebrate the news that they could reignite their love of the childhood icon through their wardrobe.

“I thought... I'd never see her again. but here she is,” tweeted one person alongside two pictures of the T-shirts, which promptly went viral, amassing more than 80,000 likes.

“Omg she has returned,” replied one person.

“Never forget my denim with pink fluffy handles groovy chick handbag,” chimed another.

The return of Groovy Chick comes after another cult 1990s fashion brand made a comeback: Jane Norman.

Thanks to model Bella Hadid, who was recently spotted in a Jane Norman vest top, the brand that went into administration in 2011 has has an unlikely resurgence.

While you can no longer buy from the brand, you might be able to find some secondhand pieces on eBay.
