The Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) has ordered the importer of the “Da Ji Da Li” brand of mini peanut puffs after a small piece of metal was found inside one of the pastries.

“Following investigation, AVA established that the fragmented metal piece came from a machine used for making the peanut puffs at the factory,” said the authority in a media release on Monday (21 January).

Also known as kok chye, the puffs are a popular Chinese New Year snack.

The product has since been removed from shelves and those who have purchased the product are advised not to consume it, the authority added.

Consumers who bought the product can also contact the importer – Mac Taste Bakery & Confectionery – at 62849119 for an exchange or enquiries.
