Avatar 2 releases first look at Kate Winslet shooting underwater scenes
Avatar 2's producer has released a first look at Kate Winslet on set as the actress films underwater scenes.
The Oscar-winner is reuniting with Titanic director James Cameron on the sci-fi sequel, where she will play the role of "water person" Ronal.
Sharing a picture of her doing performance capture in a tank, Jon Landau also posted an extract from a recent interview that Winslet gave in the comments.

"Wanted to share this photo of Kate Winslet after reading her interview in The Hollywood Reporter: 'I had to learn how to free-dive to play that role in Avatar, and that was just incredible. My longest breath hold was seven minutes and 14 seconds, like crazy, crazy stuff.'
"'She stops herself, afraid that she's given away too much on the top-secret project. 'Oh no, actually, I can't. Yeah, I play a water person. I am a water person,' is all she will offer, instead shifting to praise of Cameron.'"
Elaborating further about reuniting with the director, Winslet told the publication: "It was so wonderful to work with Jim again.
"Time has changed him. Jim has become a father a few more times over. He is a calmer person. Chilled. You can just feel him enjoying it more this time."
Alongside Winslet's role, Avatar 2 recently shared a first look at The Sopranos star Edie Falco in character as General Ardmore, the new head of RDA activity on Pandora.
Avatar is now available to watch on services including Disney+ and Amazon Prime. Avatar 2 will be released on December 16, 2022 in US and UK cinemas, with Avatar 3, Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 expected to follow in December 2024, December 2026 and December 2028 respectively.
