Baby orca separated from pod in New Zealand

This baby orca is looking for its family

Location: Plimmerton, New Zealand

‘Toa’ was found stranded on rocks north of Wellington

It's thought to be two to six months old

Marine experts are racing to locate Toa's pod of orcas

but the search efforts have so far been unsuccessful

(SOUNDBITE) (English) MARINE BIOLOGIST, DR. INGRID VISSER, SAYING:

"So the vets and the animal care staff are looking after him 24/7 and they're monitoring him all the time, and we recognize how frustrating it is for him to be in such a small pool so we're keen to get him into the sea pen as quickly as we can."
