Babysitter pleads not guilty to causing hurt on three-month-old baby [NSTTV]

IPOH: A babysitter pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court, here, today to a charge with neglecting a three-month-old baby, causing the boy to be physically injured in an incident in Seri Iskandar last week.

Ros Azlina Mohd Ismail, 46, as a person having the care of the baby, was alleged to have neglected the child, causing him to be injured, at a house in Seri Iskandar here at 11.30am last Aug 8.

The charge, under Section 31 (1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, provides an imprisonment for up to 20 years or fine not exceeding RM50,000, or both, if found guilty.

Judge Datuk Julie Lack allowed her bail of RM10,000 in one surety and set Sept 18 for mention.

Earlier, Ros Azlina, who was unrepresented, asked for a lower bail as she was not working and had nine children.
