Can I steal you for a second? Because The Bachelor is back tonight, and season 28 is sure to be filled with twists and turns—some of which began even before filming!
Of course, there's more to Lea than gorgeous gowns and a potential penchant for stirring the pot. Bachelor Nation only get a small glimpse into each contestant's life during the premiere, so here’s everything else you need to know about Lea Cayanan:
How old is Lea?
Lea, who is featured heavily in the trailer for the new season, is 23. FYI: Joey is 28.
Where is she from?
Lea was born and raised in O‘ahu, Hawaii. Her parents immigrated to the United States from the Philippines, she says in a clip from the show.
What does she do for work?
Lea works as an Operator Territory Manager with PepsiCo, per her LinkedIn. She interned with the company beginning in 2021 before being hired full-time in August 2022. She has an MBA from the University of Arizona and studied business at Gonzaga University for her undergrad, per LinkedIn.
Lea now lives in Los Angeles.
Lea moved to LA in August 2022, when she began her full-time job at PepsiCo, according to her Instagram. She celebrated a year in the city this past August with a post captioned, "been about a year in this city 🏙️💘💫 infinitely grateful for the love, friendship, community & memories. & we’re just getting started."
Lea is also a singer.
Lea loves to sing and shared a photo of her performing on Instagram. (Perhaps Bachelor viewers will hear her serenade Joey during this season...)
She met Joey at After The Final Rose in August.
In a little bit of pre-season drama, Lea first met Joey during The Bachelorette's "After The Final Rose" episode, where she was given a letter by Joey to open on the first night of the season. “Having the card is driving me crazy,” Lea says in a clip from the show. “I’m anxious to open it and see what it is. I think it could be a bit of a target on my back.”
What does Joey's letter to Lea say?
After Lea entered the mansion and opened the letter (with all the other girls gathered around, naturally), it said that Lea had the chance to steal a one-on-one date from any of the women at any point during the season, according to spoilers from Reality Steve.
Lea gets the first impression rose.
Rather than celebrating her new power, Lea threw the letter in the fire, Reality Steve reported. She later told Joey she wanted to be chosen by him for a date rather than steal one from someone else. Joey respected her decision so much that he decided to give her the first impression rose!
