Bandar Sri Sendayan Wins Best Township Development (Klang Valley) Award for Matrix Concepts Group

A self-sustaining city, Bandar Sri Sendayan is an impressive township in Seremban on Malaysia’s west coast between Kuala Lumpur and Melaka.

The all-encompassing lifestyle development is close to major roads and a soon-to-be-developed high-speed train linking the capital to Singapore.

The design is based around Feng Shui principles, resulting in a green and serene landscape of residences, recreational facilities, schools and commercial amenities fit for multi-generational living. The project’s features have also led to a win for Best Township Development (Klang Valley) at the 6th annual PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) in April 2019 for publicly listed, multi-award-winning Matrix Concepts Group. Driven by a vision of nurturing the environment and enriching residents’ lives, the developers also looked after the landscaping. John Lim Architect and E’Kuan Architect shaped the township’s architectural prowess, with Art 10 Design in charge of the interiors.

The relatively recently established development company is the proud recipient of several special accolades at this year’s awards. The developer won Special Recognition in CSR, involved with several projects, contributing close to MYR 30 million. Other awards included Special Recognition in Sustainable Development, Special Recognition for Building Communities, running a variety of events, and Special Recognition for Industrial/Logistical Development for attracting manufacturers and jobs with Sendayan TechValley a strategic component of the sustainable township development.

Embracing simplicity and sophistication, the township development is ongoing with single-storey bungalows, two-storey link houses and semi-detached homes. The Sendayan MetroPark features the main commercial aspects of Bandar Sri Sendayan, with 132 retail outlets. The Sendayan Merchant Square shopping amenities, Sendayan TechValley, and 116-acre Sendayan IconPark are further proof of the township’s commercial focus, with the creation of job opportunities part of that strategy.

For the award judges, the development’s outstanding ambition to provide a 360-degree residential experience is what attracted attention. “The judges agree that the massive township in Negeri Sembilan with 5,233 acres of freehold land, is a first-class self-sustaining city comprising residential, commercial, industrial, leisure, and institutional properties. It is a truly integrated development that can further improve over many generations.”

The commitment to outdoor space goes way beyond providing greenery to soften the impact of urban living. The 26-acre Sendayan Green Park is devised to bring residents together in an open area designed to provide a community hub. Meanwhile, the seven-acre d’Tempat Country Club features an Olympic-sized swimming pool, fitness, and aqua gym, as well as a bowling alley, badminton court and snooker room. There is also a banquet hall to host 800, with F&B and retail outlets too.

There is a sense of going-big and being expansive within the township which is clearly demonstrated by plans which include Matrix Global Schools for all ages, with medical and healthcare facilities nearby.

Meanwhile, Sendayan X-Park is a 30-acre plot where residents can engage in adrenaline-fuelled pursuits. It includes unique features such as a paintball field and electric go-karting. Residents can make the most of playgrounds, jogging paths, reflexology pathways and relaxing gazebos which serve individual residential parcels. This ensures that activities can be enjoyed within a smaller community structure too. Bandar Sri Sendayan is based around the concept of lifestyle, convenience and environment that is designed to grow and improve over time. With a football field, amphitheatre and skate park, the development strives and succeeds in being a unique project with features that stand out amongst the country’s township developments.
