BBC confirms return of Rylan Clark-Neal's Ready Steady Cook
Ready Steady Cook is officially returning to the BBC, following the success of Rylan Clark-Neal's reboot earlier this year. Get your green pepper and red tomato cards ready.
Made famous in the '90s, the iconic cooking show – and dare we say, one of the first of its kind – was brought back in March of this year, with telly favourite Rylan taking over from Ainsley Harriott as presenter.
Unsurprisingly, the Ready Steady Cook reboot was a huge hit with audiences, and so the BBC has confirmed that a new series is on its way, with 30 new episodes set to air on BBC One next year.
"I'm very excited to bring Ready Steady Cook back for series two on BBC One. We never realised when series one was on air the climate that we would be living in and how beneficial it was to so many at home watching, who were scrambling to make meals from random ingredients in the cupboard!" Rylan said of the return.

"I can't wait to welcome new contestants into the Ready Steady Cook kitchen and am equally excited to taste our chefs' fantastic creations once again."
The format that we know and love will be back, along with chefs Mike Reid, Romy Gill, Akis Petretzikis, Ellis Barrie, and Anna Haugh – as well as an additional twist.
The programme's first challenge will see the chefs have 20 minutes to create a delicious and inspiring dish from a contestant's bag of budgeted ingredients, while their second head-to-head will give them just 10 minutes with ingredients chosen at random.

As ever, we're sure the talented Ready Steady Cook chefs will be able to work their culinary magic with just about anything, with Rylan even suggesting that "a tin, some pasta and a cardigan" would be no problem. "We'll make a meal out of it babe," he said on Twitter.
Yeah, but it's got to be edible, Rylan.
