BBC reveals greatest films of the 21st century

The BBC Culture poll details the best films of the 21st century

The list was compiled through a poll of 177 film critics from around the world.

Organized into the top 100 best films of recent times, the number one spot goes to the surrealist "Mulholland Drive" (2001), directed by David Lynch. According to the Guardian, each participating critic was allowed to submit 10 films, which were then sorted into the top 100. Wes Anderson, Christopher Nolan, Michael Haneke, and Joel and Ethan Coen were amongst the most popular directors on the list.

The second and third films on the list are Wong Kar-Wai's "In the Mood for Love" (2000) and "There Will be Blood" (2007) by Paul Thomas Anderson.
