Ben Arfa remains out in PSG cold

Paris Saint-Germain's French forward Hatem Ben Arfa (C) vies with Saint-Etienne's French defender Loic Perrin during the French L1 football match between Paris Saint-Germain and Saint-Etienne

Marquee signing Hatem Ben Arfa's future at Paris Saint-Germain looks increasingly precarious after coach Unai Emery left him out of the match-day squad for the fourth time in a row. France international Ben Arfa lit up Ligue 1 with Nice last season after his career stalled during a five-year spell in England. He made a high-profile switch to PSG in the summer but quickly lost his place both in the team and also in the match-day squad under Spaniard Emery. He has now been overlooked once more, this time for the trip to Toulouse on Friday night. The 29-year-old last played on September 9 in a 1-1 draw against Saint Etienne. He was left out of the 1-1 draw with Arsenal in the Champions League and then the 6-0 and 3-0 victories in Ligue 1 over Caen and Dijon respectively. He's also been quickly forgotten at Nice, where another forward with a troubled past in Italian Mario Balotelli has made a storming start to his career on the Cote d'Azur, scoring four goals in his first two league matches.
