Bengaluru-based food startup Zzungry raises a round of seed funding from Silicon Valley entrepreneurs

Zzungry, a Bengaluru-based food company that offers freshly prepared Royal Indian cuisine, has today raised an undisclosed round of seed funding from entrepreneurs based in Silicon Valley Satish Vasudeva, Madhusudhan Jujare and a group of other individual investors.

The funds raised will be used towards unit expansion and building revenue channels.

The team, with the help of chef Rajeev, have picked authentic dishes and packaged them for easy eating. Since the time of inception, Zzungry has curated more than 200 dishes with cuisines covering 12 states across the country.

Zzungry is also planning for a second round of funding by the end of 2016.

The food startup currently operates through a delivery model with six operational kitchens in Indiranagar, BTM, HSR, Marathahalli, Electronic City and Whitefield. Zzungry processes more than 150 orders in a day.

Zzungry will foray into other destination verticals to go a step beyond the food delivery model. In the coming months, Zzungry plans to enter into retail with a new category of offering and will explore avenues like malls and tech parks to reach out to a larger consumer base.

Commenting on the company’s growth plans, Subash Baliga, Co- Founder of Zzungry, said “At Zzungry, our aim is to introduce exotic Indian dishes to a larger audience at an affordable price. With the new investments, we will be setting up new kitchens to expand our footprint in Bengaluru.”

“We will also be using a significant chunk of funds towards ramping up operation efficiency and marketing. We are focused on building a scalable and profitable enterprise,” he added.

Founded in 2015, Zzungry offers specially curated chef prepared food on demand with a different menu each week.
