Berlin International Film Festival reveals new competition movies

The Berlin International Film Festival has revealed the titles of 15 new films selected for its ‘Competition'.

In addition to the six titles already announced, a further nine films have been invited to the list, meaning the selection includes productions from 15 different countries.

The new films include the Portuguese "Cartas da guerra" (Letters from War), the Iranian "Ejhdeha Vared Mishavad!" (A Dragon Arrives!), the Franco-Italian documentary "Fuocoammare" (Fire at Sea) and "Hele Sa Hiwagang Hapis" (A Lullaby to the Sorrowful Mystery) from the Philippines / Singapore. There is also "Kollektivet" (The Commune) from Denmark / Sweden / Netherlands, the Franco-German production "L'avenir" (Things to Come), the French "Quand on a 17 ans" (Being 17), the Franco-Bosnian "Smrt u Sarajevu / Mort à Sarajevo" (Death in Sarajevo) and "Zjednoczone Stany Miłosci" (United States of Love), from Poland and Sweden.

Each of the films will have their world or international premiere during the Berlinale 2016, and will compete for the Golden Bear and the Silver Bears.

The 66th Berlinale will run from February 11-21.
