Best Argos Black Friday deals 2020: What to expect in the sale OLD
It’s not long to go until Black Friday kicks off, which means there’s thousands of savings to be had from big-name brands and retailers this month.
It originally began as a one-day flash sale in America, on the day after Thanksgiving, but it has since evolved across the Atlantic and encompasses the weekend, the following Monday (which has been coined Cyber Monday) and more recently the week before, too.
But Amazon went one (huge) step further this year by starting its pre-sale a whole month ahead of the event itself. To keep up with the best early Amazon Black Friday deals, read our guide. Other retailers including John Lewis, Currys PC World, Very, Virgin Media, AO, Boots and O2 also began earlier too.
As the coronavirus pandemic continues and with a second lockdown looming, the sale will move exclusively online this year, which means no queues or sore feet after hours of shopping in store.
One to watch is Argos, as it usually offers competitive discounts across tech, gaming and kids’ toys. Expect slashed prices on products from big-ticket brands including Apple, Gtech, Lego and Nintendo, to name a few.

When is Black Friday?
This year Black Friday will fall on Friday 27 November, and the event will run over the weekend until 30 November, which is Cyber Monday.
While the main event runs for a few days, we’re already experiencing the longest lead-up ever, as big brands and retailers launched their early Black Friday deals earlier than ever before.
Amazon launched its early bird sale a whole month before Black Friday – two weeks earlier than last year – while other retailers such as Boots and Virgin Media have also started their sales.
The best Argos Black Friday deals to expect
The retailer will be slashing its prices across all of its departments, from tech, homewares, electricals, kids’ toys, TVs and laptops. In 2019, its sale included a whopping 423 deals on gaming products, so customers were truly spoilt for choice.
While it’s keeping quiet on the deals available for this year at the moment, if it’s anything like 2019’s sale, you’ll be in for a treat.
The Xbox One S 1TB All Digital Console 3 Game & FIFA 20 Bundle​ was £259.99, but was reduced to £189.99, while the Bose Soundlink Micro Wireless Speaker came down from £89.99 to £69.99.
Even the Apple AirPods with Charging Case (2nd Generation) were reduced from £159 to £139, a great saving considering Apply typically doesn’t participate in many sales.
This Samsung 55 Inch UE55RU7020 Smart 4K HDR LED TV also saw big savings, it was £420, but was reduced to £399, the ASUS C523 15.6 Inch Celeron 4GB 64GB Chromebook Silver also came down from £299.99 to £199.99.
If you’re on the lookout for pricier essential items such as a vacuum cleaner, the Dyson V7 Motorhead Extra Cordless Vacuum Cleaner came down from £299 to £199.99.
Other deals included the KitchenAid Artistan Stand Mixer, reduced from £499.99 to £279.99 and this LEGO City Fire Downtown Fire Brigade Building Set, saw savings from £90 to £55.
How to get the best Black Friday deals at Argos?
When gearing up to shop the Black Friday sales, we’d recommend making a list of things you need, or have had your eye on for a long time, in order to stay within budget and not get sucked into impulse buys you may regret.
Due to coronavirus, the best deals will be found online, so stay cosy at home and have your phone, tablet or computer to hand.

How long will the discounts last?
Just like most retailers, the Argos sale will be running from Black Friday (27 November) through to Cyber Monday (30 November).
However, we are expecting some retailers to follow Amazon and begin some pre-sale deals much earlier than usual.
