Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) introduced the Xpander in the Philippines in 2018, following the success it had in Indonesia where it was launched the year before.
With an eye-catching design and a capable engine, it didn’t take long for the Xpander to win the hearts of Filipino car enthusiasts.
The aggressive-looking MPV runs on a 1.5-liter, 16-valve, in-line, DOHC engine with MIVEC mated to either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic tranny.
Its maximum power output of 103hp and 141Nm of torque befits the sharp and angular accents bedecking the seven-seater MPV.
The Xpander wears the Japanese carmaker’s new Dynamic Shield front fascia paired with LED headlamps and fog lamps. On the side are fender arches with side body moldings that end at the rear. Complementing the front lighting are the combination tail lamps that are as sharp and as stylish.
Atop is a sharkfin antenna and a pair of roof rails. The Xpander is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels.
The exterior features make for a stylish canvas, and MMPC knew that an MPV as good-looking as the Xpander would need a similarly stylish paint.
So today, we explore the colors of the Mitsubishi Xpander to find out what paint suits it best.
1. Quartz White Pearl
White is the choice of many owners who use their vehicles as daily drivers. It’s the safest color on the palette, especially if you plan to make the Xpander a family carrier.
In white, the Xpander beams with confidence. The front fascia appears more defined as the achromatic hue highlights the black grille and the chrome accents. In the same way, it does make the rear garnish that separates the tail lamps, pop out.
However, be prepared to clean your vehicle more often as white easily shows dust and dirt.
This option is only available on the Xpander Cross and GLS variants.
2. Jet Black Mica
A refined and reinvented MPV, the sleek and smooth characteristics of the Xpander are emphasized by the Jet Black Mica’s glossy finish. Apart from emanating a dark and mysterious aura, the sheen of the black paint stresses the various angles of the MPV, adding to its sharp and aggressive character.
Jet Black Mica is only available on the Xpander GLX and GLX Plus.
3. Graphite Gray
This color represents the absence of emotions, making this MPV look reserved, controlled, and cold. It also makes the Xpander rugged and capable to take on anything the road throws at it.
Mitsubishi offers a wide variety of genuine accessories that would look good with gray. The carmaker’s selection of functional aesthetic add ons include side, fender, tailgate, and fuel lid garnishes.
4. Sterling Silver Metallic
Leaning towards class and luxury, silver metallic adds a touch of sophistication to the otherwise beefy MPV.
Although not an executive vehicle, the Mitsubishi Xpander—in premium silver—would look like an MPV that would carry the boss of a company.
5. Red Metallic
Red metallic brings to the MPV an air of exclusivity as this paint is only available in the GLS models.
6. Sunrise Orange
No color in the Xpander lineup is as sporty as this lively hue. It’s loud and gives Mitsubishi’s MPV a fun character. It makes the Xpander stand out both on the road and in the parking lot making it perfect for owners who are not afraid of a little attention from the crowd.
Sunrise orange is only available on the Xpander Cross.
