The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Cordillera conducted on Wednesday a culminating activity for the Fire Prevention Month 2017.

During the said event, the BFP recognized individuals, private and media organizations that continuously support the agency’s advocacies — among them is UNTV.

“First of all, we would like to thank UNTV for always supporting the all activities, all the endeavors of BFP Cordillera. We thank Kuya Daniel Razon for always being there and UNTV in all the activities of BFP CAR… Thank you very much and we are expecting that you will be helping us again in the future, so we can work out to have a fire safe nation. Thank you so much.” said  BFP CAR regional director SSupt. Maria Sofia Mendoza.

Based on BFP Cordillera’s data, there were 389 fire incidents in 2015. This is lower than the 406 fire incidents in 2016.

From January 2016 to February 2017, the agency recorded 454 fire incidents with total damages amounting to P106.8 million.

Just this month alone, the number of fire incidents in the region has reached 21.

“Our theme for this year is buhay at ari-arian ay pahalagahan ating ibayong pag-iingat sa sunog ay atin pong simulan sa ating pamamahay’, considering that our statistics shows that all the fires or most of the fires that occurred is that occur from homes. This is why it is where we should start taking precautions,” SSupt. Mendoza said.

For its part, UNTV has expressed gratitude to the BFP Cordillera.

UNTV also vows to continue supporting government programs and projects.

“Gaya nga ng sinasabi ni Kuya Daniel Razon at Bro. Eli Soriano, ginagawa ito ng UNTV hindi sa anomang recognitions kundi ginagawa natin ito dahil sa ganitong paraan naluluwalhati natin ang Dios,” UNTV representative Aga Caacbay said.

(We thank God for all the good things he gave UNTV that enable us to serve the public and help the government. Like what Kuya Daniel Razon and Bro. Eli Soriano said what’s important for us is to help others and bless others with the blessings we receive from God. UNTV serves the public not because of recognition but because we believe that in way, we can glorify God.)  – Jun Soriao | UNTV News & Rescue
