Bhullar Makes History, Tawanchai Stuns In Debut At ONE: DANGAL

Brandon “The Truth” Vera had a five-year run as the ONE Heavyweight World Champion, but on Saturday, 15 May, his reign came to an end against Indian star Arjan “Singh” Bhullar.

The two heavyweights met in the main event of ONE: DANGAL, and Bhullar looked dominant from the get-go.

In round one, Vera came on strong with his striking, but Bhullar was able to evade and throw hands of his own.

The deciding moments then came in the second frame, as Bhullar stung Vera with a body shot that sent him to the canvas. The Indian quickly pounced and landed a series of ground-and-pound that went unanswered.

The referee was forced to stop the bout at 4:27 of round two, making Bhullar the first-ever Indian Mixed Martial Arts World Champion.

In the co-main event, Muay Thai superstar Tawanchai PK.Saenchai Muaythaigym made his ONE Super Series debut with a KO win over WBC Muay Thai World Champion Sean “Clubber” Clancy.

From the opening bell, Tawanchai was in complete control, pelting the Irishman with body and head kicks to rack up early damage.

The finishing touch came at the start of round three, as Clancy rushed in for a right hand but ate a left high kick from Tawanchai, dropping where he stood and bringing the bout to an end at the 0:35 mark.
