Biker dies after grazing another motorcycle en route to Sg Petani


KEPALA BATAS: A 23-year-old motorcyclist died in an accident after grazing another bike at the North-South Expressway here yesterday.

In the 6.47pm incident, Mohamad Amin Wan Abdul Talib was heading north on the road before the accident occurred at KM118.

He died after sustaining serious injuries on his head and body. The other motorcyclist only sustained light injuries.

Seberang Prai Utara district police chief Assistant Commissioner Azmi Adam said the victim was believed to be heading to Sungai Petani, Kedah.

"He was likely hit by another vehicle traveling on the same road after the initial accident, but we are still in the process of determining this.

"I urge members of the public who saw the accident to come forward to shed light on the accident," he said.

The body was sent to the Kepala Batas Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving .
