Tobacco Dock, adjacent to the River Thames just east of Tower Bridge, is once again the venue for the Bikeshed show this bank holiday weekend, May 27 and 28.

Year on year the show has got bigger and better, and this year it is set to continue that trend, occupying more space than previous years at Tobacco Dock and now with more than 200 bikes on display.

One of my personal highlights of the biking calendar, Europe's best independent annual show will once again celebrate the creativity and passion of the new-wave and cafe-racer custom culture. The show attracts visitors from all corners of the UK and many from further afield will make the journey to see some of the best custom motorcycles in the world.

Although every bike on show will have been curated by the Bikeshed cc team, this doesn't mean they are all mega-budget machinery from exclusive professional builders. The show will, as always, celebrate professional, amateur and shed-built machines.

Once again this year the show has mainstream motorcycle industry support. The event will be sponsored by Swedish suspension giant Ohlins and be supported by clothing manufacturer Rev'It . Such is the importance of this sector mainstream manufacturers including Triumph, Indian, Ducati, Yamaha and BMW will all be exhibiting.

Not only does the Bikeshed team  headed by Anthony 'Dutch' van Someren curate the machinery on display, they apply the same rigorous approach to every single retailer; be they clothing, equipment, food or even  tattooists and barbers.

By applying this ethos and listening to customer feedback the hope is that attendances over the two days will swell from 12,000 in 2016 to 15,000 for 2017, no mean feat considering the humble beginnings of the first show back in May 2013, when 3,000 passed through the doors at the original Shoreditch venue.

Back then it was a show for enthusiasts; now it is truly a family day out with bikes galore, clothing and accessories, food and drink, barbers and tattooists not to mention live music and art.

General tickets allow access on both days so visitors can come and go as often as they like. Similarly, the preview tickets for Friday May 26 cover all three days.

Tickets cost £20 on the door.
