Bill Clinton recovering from non-COVID infection

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton has been hospitalized for two days with an infection, but has responded well to treatment, according to his doctors on Thursday.

Clinton, now 75, was admitted to a medical center in Irvine, California on Tuesday.

His spokesperson said it was not for a covid-19 infection and added, "He is on the mend, in good spirits, and incredibly thankful to the doctors, nurses and staff providing him with excellent care."

The former president went to the hospital after feeling fatigued.

CNN reported he was later diagnosed with sepsis, an infection of the bloodstream.

Clinton’s physicians said in a statement he’s responding well to antibiotic treatment, but will remain hospitalized for monitoring.

Clinton, a Democrat who was president from 1993-2001, has had past health issues.

He underwent heart surgeries in 2004 and 2010, but his doctors have assured his latest stay is not related.
