If you want to avoid certain crowds or find an area known for certain foods, the new Yelp Wordmap could be what you’re looking for.

The handy website for locals and tourists is a heat map that shows clusters of where reviews containing a certain key word are mentioned the most.

Yelp used over 39 million reviews for the site. Right now there are 14 metropolitan cities that can show you everything from where you are most likely to find hipsters in San Francisco (see above photo) to where you might find bacon.

If you’re a local and want to avoid the tourists in Washington, D.C., the map below might help you out. You can see the largest cluster is near Federal Triangle, where you can find several metro stops, monuments, and museums.

Now you know where the tourists are. But what if you also want to find out where to find cocktails in D.C.? If you select “cocktail,” you can see that if you head slightly north of where the tourists are, you can find a good cluster of places that mention “cocktails” near U Street.
