Janet Jackson Announces First Tour Since 2011

We knew this was coming, but Janet Jackson finally announced her upcoming tour, which she’s calling the Unbreakable World Tour.

The first of the 36 confirmed shows begins August 31st in Vancouver, before traveling through most of Canada and the United States.

Back in May, Jackson not only hinted at a tour but also new music, and her still-untitled 11th album will come out this fall, while she’s on tour.

For many fans, a new album is a reminder that it’s been seven long years since her last, 2008’s Discipline. But Janet’s still Janet – a one-word icon known as much for her music as her dancing.

And earlier today on Twitter, she shared a behind-the-scenes look at her tour’s audition process.

Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable tour is sure to pack stadiums, so get your passes while you can. Tickets go on sale June 22nd.

But if you can’t wait for Jackson to break out your best moves, Yahoo Live is bringing you the year’s biggest dance party – the Electric Daisy Carnival. EDC starts this Friday, June 19th in Las Vegas, but you can watch the whole thing from home with our live stream here.

But if you’re on the move and don’t have time to watch, Sirius XM’s Electric Area is also playing the hottest DJ sets live. It’s all on channel 52 and you can learn more here.
