GE candidates file election expenses

The National Solidarity Party's (NSP) Jeannette Chong-Aruldoss has filed her General Elections expenses at the Elections Department on Monday morning.

She told reporters that she had spent about S$27,000 or S$1.15 per eligible voter in the Mountbatten single member constituency (SMC) on her campaign.

For single member constituencies, candidates are allowed to spend up to S$3.50 per eligible voter for their campaign.

NSP's Spencer Ng was also there to file his Marine Parade GRC team's expenses. Other opposition candidates were also present to file their election expenses.

Workers' Party candidate Koh Choong Yong submitted his expenses incurred in his bid for Sengkang West SMC. Koh declined to reveal the total amount spent.

All candidates will have to file their election expenses within 31 days after the election results are published in the Gazette. The deadline for candidates to file their election expenses with the Elections Department is Monday, 13 June.
