This year's PSC would be the last President S R Nathan will attend as the President of Singapore. The charity event on 31 July is part of the year-long President's Challenge with different charity and fundraising activities.

In its 12th year, the President's Challenge was initiated by S R Nathan as a platform to encourage Singaporeans to help the less fortunate in the country.

"Every dollar that they donate will go a long way towards improving the lives of its beneficiaries and bring immeasurable benefits and hope to those in need," he added.

This year's President's Challenge will see 28 different organisations as beneficiaries, including the Community Chest, Singapore Children's Society and Teen Challenge.

The public can start pledging donations of $5, $20 and $100 from now to 7 August by calling the telepoll numbers at 1900-112-8821, 1900-112-8822, 1990-112-8823 respectively.
