Keira Knightley wears wedding dress for third time. What did other stars do with theirs?

The third time's a charm for Keira Knightley when it comes to her wedding dress. The "Anna Karenina" star has set tongues wagging after wearing the Chanel frock from her wedding to two other occasions -- most recently, to the Serious Fun gala in London on Tuesday. In May, when Knightley tied the knot with James Righton, she had already surprised fans by sporting the dress, which she had worn to a BAFTA party in 2008.

But the 28-year-old Brit is not the first celebrity to refuse to keep the dress from her big day under wraps.

In 2011, Gwen Stefani revealed that the blushing two-toned John Galliano wedding dress she wore to marry husband Gavin Rossdale in 2002 would be put on display at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.

"I didn't want to send it because I was scared it would get ruined," she said in 2011, "But it's a work of art, it needed to be seen."

Also on display in London that year was Kate Middleton's lace Alexander McQueen gown, which she wore to marry Prince William in 2011. The almost $500,000 dress was part of Buckingham Palace's annual summer exhibition.

The Duchess of Cambridge's late mother in law also has the distinction of having her wedding dress on display. Considered one of the most famous wedding gowns in the world, the dress designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel appeared at the West Edmonton Mall earlier this year as part of the exhibit, "Diana: A Celebration."

But not every famous bride's dress is put on display: late actress Elizabeth Taylor's first wedding dress was instead put on the chopping block. The "Cleopatra's" star's first nuptial frock (she had seven more!), designed by MGM costumer Helen Rose for Taylor's marriage to Conrad “Nicky” Hilton Jr. in 1950, was sold by Christie's auction house in June for $188,000.
