Chiang Rai’s hill tribes refer to the various tribal groups who migrated to Thailand from places like Tibet, Burma and China toward the end of the 19th century.
Each of the six major tribes has their own distinctive heritage, clothing, language, religion and culture.
There are plenty of different hill tribe tours to choose from – you can choose to do a simple day trek or opt for a home stay with a local family.
