Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong says the city-state’s next General Election (GE) may not happen “when everybody is expecting it”.

Speaking on the sidelines of an Asean-Korea summit in Busan, South Korea, PM Lee told reporters present that various factors would be considered before making the decision.

Those included local and international events, as well as Singapore’s 50th birthday celebrations, which span the whole of next year.

The president of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said he was surprised by the national team's major defeat by Malaysia in the second leg of the semi-final of the AFF Cup 2014 at My Dinh Stadium, Thursday evening.

Vietnam were ahead on aggregate thanks to a 2-1 victory in the first leg played in Malaysia, but must now swallow the bitter outcome of failing to qualify for the final after a 4-2 slaughtering in their second meeting.

Responding to the negative result, the president of the VFF, Le Hung Dung, highlighted the poor performance of Vietnam's defensive line and said he found the four Malaysian goals to be peculiar.
