There will be 12,060 Certificate of Entitlements (COEs) available between May and July of this year, according to the Land Transport Authority on Friday.

This is a big leap of 32 per cent from the COE quota for the previous three months (February to April), which was 9,127. Bidding under the new quota will start with the first bidding exercise next month.

COE quotas across all categories, except for motorcycles, have increased by at least 37 per cent.

Google will make its controversial Internet-linked Glass eyewear available for purchase for a limited time in the United States beginning April 15.

Anyone in the United States with about S$1,900 to spend on Glass will be able to join the ranks of "explorers" who have been testing out the devices prior to them hitting the market, the California-based Internet titan said Thursday in a post at on its Google+ social networking site.

Search and rescue officials in Australia are confident they know the approximate position of the black box recorders from missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said on Friday.

At the same time, however, the head of the agency co-ordinating the search said that the latest "ping" signal, which was captured by a listening device buoy on Thursday, was not related to the plane.

A FedEx truck driver in the US lost control of the vehicle before slamming into a tour bus carrying students. The accident claimed nine lives and injured 32. Those injured were taken to a nearby hospital.

One of the injured is in a stable condition while another is undergoing testing and additional treatment.

The condition of the other 30 who were injured is not known.
