From Monday onwards, customers of 14 banks in Singapore can do instant fund transfers between accounts held in different banks. The interbank transfer will be free for retail customers while charges will apply for corporate users.

The 14 banks are ANZ Bank, CIMB Bank, Citibank, DBS Bank, Deutsche Bank, Far Eastern Bank, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC Bank, RHB Bank, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Standard Chartered Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp and United Overseas Bank.

Singaporean guide dog owner Cassandra Chiu said that she and a friend were “refused” service at McDonald’s on Monday amid the retail chain’s island-wide free breakfast promotion.

Chiu, who is visually-impaired and is best known for being one of the first in Singapore to own and use a guide dog, told Yahoo Singapore she was told by the store manager of a McDonald’s outlet in Jurong Park that she could not be served as the store was crowded and they were giving away egg McMuffins for free.

McDonald's popular National Breakfast Day promotion saw snaking queues at outlets islandwide on Monday morning. Instead of Hello Kitty soft toys, people lined up for over 100,000 free Egg McMuffins. For the first time too, the fast food joint will be serving breakfast until 6pm.

The next time you pull out your wallet to pay for a bottle of cooling water, antelope drink or tea, you may want to look a little closer at its ingredients list — because it might contain the horn of an endangered animal.

What is written as “Cornu Saiga Tataricae”, and sometimes misspelled as “Cornu Saigae Tatariae”, refers to the Saiga antelope horn. Despite the little attention the Saiga antelope has received from the eyes of the public, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) believes Singapore is the main hub of Saiga horn trade in Southeast Asia.

A video purportedly showing leaked CCTV footage of the two pilots of the missing Malaysia Airlines jetliner has been making its rounds online.

While it is unclear who posted the clip first, it appears that SAYS, a social news site based in Malaysia, was among the first to post it on their YouTube channel on 10 March.

The 14-second clip, which has since garnered close to 40,000 views since being posted, shows Captain Zaharie Shah, 53, followed by co-pilot, Fariq Abdul Hamid, 27, going through a brief security check at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) before boarding flight MH370.

Meanwhile, the last transmission via the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) was received at 1:07 am. Also, the Malaysia Airlines CEO said that they are not aware of reports that the plane had flown had 5,000 feet to avoid radar.
