The supply of foreign workers continues to shrink. According to CIMB, despite modest economic growth, the labour market remains tight, with unemployment staying at a 5-year low of 1.8 per cent SA at end-2013. As the supply of foreign workers continued to shrink, Singapore’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate stayed at 2012’s 1.8 per cent, which was the lowest since 2007.

Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his New York apartment of a suspected drug overdose on Sunday, law enforcement officials said. He was 46. The enigmatic star who was hailed as the finest character actor of his generation, won an Oscar in 2006 as best actor for "Capote" and was nominated for three further Academy Awards. A substance thought to be heroin was found at the scene when police responded to the actor's home in Manhattan's West Village after receiving a call from one of his friends.

Woody Allen called Dylan Farrow's allegations of child molestation "untrue and disgraceful", signaling that he would fight renewed claims dating back to Allen's tempestuous relationship with actress Mia Farrow in the early 1990s. The movie director's publicist Leslee Dart said in an email Sunday that Allen has read Dylan Farrow's open-letter, published online Saturday by The New York Times, claiming she was sexually assaulted when she was 7 by her then adoptive father.
