Stars from "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" Andrew Garfield and Jamie Foxx made an appearance on Friday morning at Commonwealth Secondary School to learn more about the green initiatives being practiced by students and staff there -- and of course, also to hang out with more than a thousand screaming uniform-clad fans.

Apart from sampling some Singlish, the pair also planted trees and answered a couple of green-themed questions at a brief session with the media.

Several top online travel agencies have started to boycott Malaysia Airlines over its handling of the missing MH370, until it "gets to the bottom of the truth on flight MH370".

At least four of China's largest online ticket and travel vendors -- including eLong, LY.com, Qunar and Mango -- said they have banned sales of MAS tickets after public anger against the airline and the Malaysian government.

The search area for the lost Malaysia Airlines jetliner shifted 1,100km to the northeast on Friday, as Australian officials said a new analysis of radar data suggests the plane had flown faster and so ran out of fuel more quickly than previously estimated.

While none of the hundreds of pieces of suspected debris spotted by satellites have been found yet, there are advantages to the new search area, which is closer to land and has calmer weather than the old one.
