An outcry began on Wednesday after local telco SingTel’s chief executive Chua Sock Koong called on regulators to give carriers the right to charge rivals WhatsApp and Skype for the usage of their networks, according to a report by the Sydney Morning Herald.

A proposed anti-harassment law to be tabled in Parliament next week will criminalise harassment, both in the physical as well as online world. The proposed bill will cover a broad range of behaviour such as stalking, bullying of children, sexual harassment within and outside the workplace as well as cyber-bullying.

Third service disruption on SMRT this week caused by signal fault

A signal fault on SMRT's Circle Line on Thursday morning caused another service disruption, the third this week alone, affecting commuters travelling from Paya Lebar to Dhoby Ghaut MRT stations. Train services were affected between 6am and 9am and SMRT informed commuters via its Twitter feed to add an estimated 20 minutes of travelling time from Paya Lebar to Dhoby Ghaut.

Thailand's anti-corruption agency weighed charges of negligence against Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Thursday as the leader of protests aimed at forcing her from power suggested a televised debate after weeks of refusing to talk.

Sports fans can look forward to international rugby and women's tennis - along with Asian football, swimming and badminton events - once the new Singapore Sports Hub has its soft launch in April and opens fully in June. Other attractions announced on Thursday included concerts by Lionel Ritchie in April, Taylor Swift in June and Taiwanese star Jay Chou in November.
