Police brutality video at Hong Kong protest sparks outrage
Hong Kong police came under fire Wednesday after plainclothes officers were filmed beating and kicking a handcuffed protester during some of the worst clashes since mass democracy rallies erupted two weeks ago.
The city's security chief said the accused officers had been "removed" from their posts after the assault that occurred amid violent confrontations when police swooped in to clear newly erected barricades near government headquarters.

Four Indians jailed for fraud in Singapore
Four Indian nationals in Singapore were Wednesday given jail terms ranging between three and four years for fraudulent Goods and Services Tax (GST) tourist refund claims of about $570,000.
They were ordered to pay penalties equivalent to three times the amount of tax undercharged, The Straits Times reported.

Private home sales plunged 52% in the first three quarters of 2014
Only 648 homes were sold last month.
The sales slowdown persisted in the third quarter. Data released today by the Urban Redevelopment Authority developers sold 6,030 private homes in the first three quarters of the year, a 52% decline from the 12,666 in Q313, and a 67% drop from the 18,223 units taken up in Q312.
