Romanian ex-diplomat convicted for Singapore crash dies
A former Romanian diplomat convicted for a deadly 2009 hit-and-run accident in Singapore died on Tuesday in a Bucharest jail hospital, local media reported.
Silviu Ionescu, Romania's charge d'affaires in Singapore at the time, had been sentenced to six years behind bars in February by a Bucharest appeals court. He died of cardio-respiratory problems, judiciary sources told Mediafax news agency.

China tycoon ties up with Singapore firm, entrepreneur to launch US$100-million media fund
A Chinese film tycoon, a Singaporean entrepreneur and a Singapore private equity firm launched on Tuesday a US$100 million fund based in the city-state that will open the way for foreigners to invest in China’s media and entertainment industry.
Local media entrepreneur Calvin Cheng, who put the deal together and will be the fund’s chief investment officer and general partner, said that the fund would look at media companies globally that have a “China story”.

Young SMRT captain Tan Ming Hui, 23, has been revealed to be the friendly voice behind the cheerful announcements delighting MRT commuters on the North-South Line in recent weeks.

7 out of 10 Malaysian voters still think Malaysia corrupt, survey shows
Public perception towards corruption in Malaysia remains unchanged since 2005 with at least 77% of Malaysian voters this year agreeing that corruption in the country is serious, according to a recent Merdeka Center survey.
The survey done jointly with BFM Radio for World Anti-Corruption Day yesterday showed this perception appeared unchanged compared to similar polls conducted in August 2005 and June 2012 which found 76% and 78%, respectively, saying that corruption was seriously prevalent.
