Singaporeans can now go through immigration counters at Australia's airports via their self-service facilities, SmartGate, after Canberra extended its use to travellers from the city-state.
Australia’s Minister for Trade and Investment Andrew Robb reportedly said on Wednesday, “Customs and Border Protection is launching a trial to allow Singaporean e-passport holders aged 16 years and over to use SmartGate self-processing facilities in Australia’s eight major airports."

US aviation authorities have fined South Korea's Asiana Airlines $500,000 over last year's deadly San Francisco air crash for failing to properly help families of victims, officials said.
Three passengers died when Asiana Airlines Flight 214 clipped a seawall with its landing gear, skidded off the runway and burst into flames at the end of an otherwise routine flight from Seoul to San Francisco on 6 July.
