PETALING JAYA, April 26 — Pakatan Harapan leaders and supporters are actually not interested in facts, according to Barisan Nasional strategic communications deputy director Datuk Eric See-To.

He said they would tar and insult those who state facts and opinions they do not like, such as DAP veteran Tan Seng Giaw who was called a “running dog” for refusing to accuse BN of wrongdoing related to 1Malaysia Development Bhd.

”If we want to be a mature democracy, we must have intelligent voters who vote based on the correct information,” he said at a forum last night.

Those who do not toe the party line are similarly maligned, he said, referring to DAP’s Dr Boo Cheng Hau.

He added that such leaders fell out of favour simply for stating facts, which he said was not always welcome in Opposition parties such as DAP.

“So I don’t mind being to be called a ‘running dog’, if I’m telling the truth, but that truth hurts Pakatan supporters,” he said.

See-To said that the public must be free to express their opinions without being attacked and insulted.

He added that aside from insults, another PH tactic was to ignore questions about its actions.

Among these were caretaker Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali’s alleged refusal to answer his questions about the state’s water restructuring, he said.
