One match will determine which team will claim the third place this season in the League of Public Servants, the UNTV Cup.
Two-time champion Judiciary Magis and rookie team BOC Transformers will head to the hard court battle not just to give honor for their teams but also for the sake of public service.
A P1-million cash prize awaits the winner in this match, while half a million pesos is in store for the losing team, which will be hailed as the fourth placer.
The cash prizes will be donated to each team’s chosen beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, it is not only the players and the UNTV Cup fans who are preparing for this much-awaited hoop action.
Even Bureau of Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon is thrilled for reaching this level of the league, and vows a better BOC Transformers in the next season.
“The purpose is not just to bring a better league and competition to the viewing public, yan naman ang gusto natin [that is also what we want]. And of course, to represent what’s the best in public service through those teams meaning if you upgrade your team you’re also upgrading your public service,” he said.
Furthermore, Commissioner Faeldon expressed support to the league with the heart for public service and the advocacy it upholds.
“So as far as Bureau of Customs, as far as I am concerned, the league was conducted at its best so we continue to participate and encourage everyone to participate and support the activities of the UNTV Cup.”
Watch out for the Transformers-Magis hard court collision at the Pasig City Sports Center on Sunday, March 5, at 3:00 PM, to be aired live on UNTV with live streaming via untvweb.com.
