Body of 2nd teenager in Pantai Batu Layar drowning case found

KOTA TINGGI: Rescuers have recovered the body of the second teenager, reported missing since yesterday while taking a dip at Pantai Batu Layar, here.

The body of Nor Rahimi Fithri Ismail, 19, was found at 2.20pm.

Rescuers found his body floating about 1km from the Search and Rescue (SAR) Operation's post or 500 metres from where the first body was found.

Earlier, at 5.50am, the SAR team found the body of Rahimi's friend, Mohammad Norhakimi Rejab, 18.

Their bodies have been taken to the Kota Tinggi Hospital for identification and post mortem.

Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) deputy director (operations), Maritime Captain Sanifah Yusof, in a statement, said the SAR operation involved assets from MMEA, Marine police, Fire and Rescue Department and the Civil Defence Force.
