Body of 54-year-old man found in Singapore River

The body of a man was found motionless in the Singapore River on Tuesday (10 July) morning.

Yahoo News Singapore understands that the deceased is a 54-year-old Chinese male.

A Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spokesman said a call had been received at 6.50am informing them of a man who had entered the river near 80 Muhammad Sultan Road, in the Robertson Quay area.

Officers, including those from the Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART), conducted surface and underwater search operations. The man’s body was found by DART divers at around 12.20pm and he was pronounced dead at the scene by SCDF paramedics.

Separately, the police said that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
