Body of last victim in Teluk Kalong drowning case found

KUALA TERENGGANU: Rescuers have recovered the body of the last of the three teenagers reported missing since Thursday while taking a dip at Pantai Teluk Kalong, Kijal in Kemaman. The body of Khairul Ikmal Danial Zamzuradi, 19, was found at 9.45am today. Rescuers found his body lying on the ground about two kilometres from the makeshift control post set-up by the search and rescue team at the beach. State Fire and Rescue Department senior operations commander Mohamed Zulkhairul Mohamed Razilah also announced the search and rescue operation mounted to look for drown victims has ended at about 11am today. “The family of the victim was called for the victim identification process. “The body of the victim has been handed over to the police for further action before his body can be claimed by his family for funeral rites,” he said. Khairul Ikmal, who is a Diploma in Business Studies’ student at Politeknik Kok Lanas in Kelantan, was swimming with six of his friends including the two other victims at 6.20pm.
