KUALA LUMPUR: Police have information on the identity of the murder victim whose body was discovered severed into several parts and stuffed in two luggage bags along Jalan Ipoh on July 5. Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim in a statement said police have also collected several evidence believed to be related to the case from the location where the body was found. "At the moment, police are investigating and are confirming the identity of the victim," he said, urging members of the public with information on the case to contact senior investigating officer Asst Supt Faizal Abdullah at 012-4834439. It was reported earlier that police found two bags near the Sungai Gombak riverbank along Jalan Ipoh containing severed body parts. In the first luggage, police found hands, feet and a head. In the second bag, police found a torso. Post-mortem result showed the victim, a woman, had died from a slash to the throat believed to be by a sharp and heavy weapon. Police earlier said they believe the victim was killed somewhere else and later dumped near the river.
