Bogus Home Ministry letters making its rounds

PUTRAJAYA: The Home Ministry has detected an abuse involving the ministry’s letterhead as letters purportedly signed by its deputy secretary-general in charge of management in obtaining approvals for business licenses.

In a statement released today, the ministry had said forged letters of support were used to obtain approval to run purported family entertainment centres in Malacca and Sarawak.

“The ministry would like to stress it did not issue such letters to any individuals or companies.

“Therefore, those who have received such letters or come in contact with these letters allegedly signed by the ministry’s higher officials, to immediately report the matter to the ministry and lodge a police report.”
